This course utilizes the Practice Labs technology. This platform allows for you to interact with full-versions of various software, servers, and application components without downloading anything to your personal computer. The platform is cloud-based and web-browser accessible. Directions for each of your course activities are shown on the desktop area within the lab system.
To update your work breakdown structure (WBS) and create your WBS dictionary lab work in Microsoft (MS) Project, complete the instructions found within your Practice Lab.

- How to enter Practice Labs and navigate to your assignment.
- How to reset the time. Practice Labs is on a one-hour timer and you need to save your work and then reset the timer to avoid losing what you have done. Reset the timer by clicking on “auto log out reset’, which is clicking on the 60 minute countdown timer itself.
- How to save a document in Practice Labs. Note this is a multistep process that involves Internet Explorer. In this course you will be updating and reusing the assignment week after week. Be sure to save your work correctly.
- How to save a document to your computer (for the MS Excel assignment). Note you cannot import documents back into Practice Labs.
Saving and Retrieving Files in Practice Labs
Practice Labs does not have an autosave feature. You will need to manually save your work using a multi-step process. Please see the video and documents below on how this is done.

Practice Labs Login Information
You will be automatically logged into the Practice Labs environment when clicking on the Practice Labs icon/links within your online course. Your Practice Labs account is created with your Primary Email that is listed within your Ashford University student account.
