There are various types of quality improvement out there, they include: Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Theory of Constraints, TQM / TQI, etc. (Even ISO 9000/9001 etc.). Different ones can be used in different healthcare settings, from patient flow, to patient safety.
Look up process improvement in healthcare on the internet. Maybe apply some of what you just looked up in your last discussion, or your last assignment you are working on with your critical incident, or even how your technology can help with process improvement.
Look at processes like the ones I listed above or others.
Name it and define it as best you can.
Give an example of how it can be applied to a specific process in a hospital or healthcare organization.
