This assignment is a little different than your first two. Here you have 5 separate questions, and each answer will be worth 20 points for a total of 100 points and graded based on the attached rubric.
Format using Times New Roman, 1†margins and 12 point font.
Cite all work using The Chicago Manual of Style. If you are unclear about this, please go back to week one and read the Course Guidance in the Week 1 Lesson.

While these questions are asking for your opinions, you must substantiate those opinions with academically sound research, which can and should include assigned class readings. The use of 5 scholarly sources is required.
Include a cover page and a bibliography or reference list depending on citation style.
Answer each of the following in approximately 200 words each:
1. An element of the National Security Act of 1947 stated “…No United States intelligence information may be provided to the United Nations or any organization affiliated with the United Nations…†Briefly defend this position from an ethical (and academic) perspective.
2. For intelligence-gathering purposes, is the torture of terrorists or enemy combatants ever morally acceptable? If the answer is yes, give examples with substantiating support.
3. Explain what you would consider to be a working definition of integrity for an intelligence gathering government agency. What sort of attributes would be absolutes? Give examples of integrity in action in the IC.
4. What sort of conclusion did Kent Pekel come to in his discussion of integrity and ethics at the CIA? What are his recommendations?
5. The ACLU condemned the killing of Anwar Al-Aulaqi as both illegal and unethical, while the AUMF can broadly be determined to support such actions. In the case of Al-Aulaqi, were the US government’s actions ethical?
