Introduction
The welfare of human beings was the fundamental reason for the organization of human beings into formal governance. Human dignity and how it should be observed remains a contentious issue in many societies and governments worldwide. Rights and freedoms are some of the ways to comply with these significant human problems. Freedom of expression falls under the categories of liberties that the government cannot curtail by any means possible either by judicial processes or by a change of law. This essay discusses freedom of speech coupled with freedom of expression as a civil liberty issue taking references in the case in an article published by The Atlantic, “The Most Shortsighted Attack on Free Speech in Modern U.S History.”
